  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc 360 wxe bought from original owner

Hi guys. I just bought a 93 360 WXE from the original owner (well from his son). It has been well taken care of and starts and runs well. It has been sitting for 5 years or so but was put up and stored well. I t does need a clutch cable, sprockets and a chain. The clutch cable is problematic because not all the parts are there. Is there anyone that you can recommend within 150 miles of Knoxville, TN that you can recommend for service? I can handle cables but the lower mount point appears to be broken off the engine casing. Any thoughts appreciated.

congratulations on a very fun ride, I have one and love it
you will want to get a Motion Pro Terminator for sure on the clutch cable, so what is missing in the mix?
do you have a picture of the broken lower mount point?

So it was you who got first dibs on that bike! I saw the ad a day late, (two days after being listed) and it was already sold.:( I've been scouring the craigslist ads like a hawk and was intent on buying it sight unseen. Definitely a great deal, and a great looking bike! Congrats:thumbsup:

Short of a strip down to weld a tab on properly, might get by with some sort of fabricated bracket to hold the end of the cable. You might be able to utilize existing engine bolts or even off the frame?

i have a case like that for a 360, po had threaded a machine screw in place of one of the tabs...seemed to work ok

Thanks so much and yes the seller said he had several calls so I guess I got lucky! I will dig into it this weekend and send pics. At this point it looks like a new cable was run but all the loose parts placed in a bag. Not sure where things go yet and the diagrams I have found don't show the proper set up very well(I have been looking thru the owners manual and the parts reference PDF on the Halls website). Meantime I ordered a chain and sprocket set and air filter from them. They don't show fork seals and bushings available so any pointers on where to find these for a fork seal redo would be appreciated. I will look up the motion pro as well and see. I did buy a universal clutch perch at Cycle Gear thinking that was all I needed but I may return it. I can't wait to get in the woods with it! The only other issue I have found is the rear tail light not working. Bulbs are good just no power to the rear.

Ok, had to make a clutch cable stay since the case-stay was actually broken. Didn't take a picture and have the bike put up 20 min. away but let me tell you it runs awesome!! Put new seals/bushings in the forks, new chain and sprockets, changed fluids and air filter and rode it 25 miles today. Couldn't believe the power and how well it rode on the rough stuff. Halls' cycles is incredible as well. I ordered the above parts and they shipped the same day. I then ordered a seat cover and for $29 they are sending me an original in the box OEM seat for $29!! I called to make sure I was reading the invoice correctly and they said they wanted to unload it and Merry Christmas! Now I just need to get the idle correct. By the way, the previous owner said they ran 50:! in it. I expected a lower ratio but it ran great and the compression checked out really strong….thoughts? Again, I'll post a pic of the clutch stay fix if I can remember to get out my camera and snap it!…So impressed with this bike…love it!

you love it,,,, but you have it for sale in the classifieds
seems you got some good advice but you have it for sale, curious, why?

After another ride I just decided it's too much bike for me. Tooling around with my son it's like riding a race horse on a saddle trail....very impressive machine nonetheless. If I don't get any offers I'll hang onto it but in the meantime going to look for a smaller 4 stroke with a magic button....more suited to my needs...
