  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

310R. 2013

SO it's a 2013 Te310R that I had quite a few teething issues with in the past. But sometime last year after deleting the starter and some other mods it has been running perfect. It starts easy with the kicker and run's better then ever. I have been riding it usually about 3 times a week in the hot Florida sun in the deep sand. The bike is fast and reliable in the woods. Maybe a little too fast.
Anyway just wanted to say thanks to all the Cafe members who helped me out in the past (Trench etc.) and I have the starter if anyone needs it, I think it's still good.
It's going to be 98 degrees tomorrow and i'm all prepped for a day in the swamps.

My 2010 2010 TE250 was the same way. One of the 1st U.S, market x-lites. Lots of issues out of the box, but it's been running great for 6 years since sorting it.

I have the starter still on the bike but use it only for trail stall restarts. I kick it mostly. From the top smooth and it lights 1-2 kicks all day long.

I'd be happy to buy the starter from you.

PM me a price.

I have a question about the heat.

if your bike is a red head, do you ever boil gas in the tank?
There is not a lot of clearance between the tank and valve cover.

I never had overheating problems, The fan runs when it gets hot. I did have to shim the tank in 2013 because a rad hose was rubbing, been fine since.

No issues with my 2013 other than the starter which was bad on the showroom floor. Fixed, and good to go since then. I have a large tank on the way and intend to use the 310 for multi-day trips with light soft luggage. Great bike!

headlight has to go. Anybody know the part # for a front plate?

part #80C0 A4216 for the 2009-2014 TC (250,450,510), CR (125,150) TXC (250, 310) and SMR models. Should even go earlier into the blue/yellow era

Looks like you'll pay around $38 from husky, so go for the polisport, ufo, or acerbis aftermarket plate instead (one of 'em is usually the OEM anyways) Don't forget the cable holder.

edit: here, get this white one on ebay for $22.36; should fit everything Italian from '05-'14

Thats a "take-Off" from the GPX (the greenish bike above). White plate ...and it fit well, the front fender on the other hand was a no go.
