• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I love smell of Castor but i hear synthetic way better. I presently use amsoil Dominator but hear Interceptor better for my style riding in older class of harescramble. I now hear Motorex is better stuff. I might try it. Anyone have research showing motorex way better? Just curious, not looking for guys to start arguement haha. Play nice

I use Yamalube.... But seriously a loaded question..... everyone has their favorite.... pick a good oil not Penzoil, weedwacker oil and go along

When I ran it in my RM, guys used to tell me they could ride back there all day.

Love the oil, but it's too expensive, and difficult to find around here. I can get Dominator for less than half the price

here at the cafe, we have intelligent discussions! even oil!
i like castor as well, but i run klotz super techniplate @ 40:1..have for over 20 years in all my 2 stroke equipment. burns cleaner than the maxima castor ive found. the maxima is very over priced as well.
there may be no need to have castor, but i have racked up some hours on the older husky engines and had great wear...as far as straight up engine protection goes, its hard to beat a castor/synthetic blend. a pure synthetic is cleaner, which you may need if youre jetting is off or you putt.
if i didnt want to use castor based synthetic blend, i would run an amsoil product likely. very clean!

Castor is syn ir syn blend? Never heard this before! Dont think both oils can be blended, ones Dyno and other is synth

castor oil is not dino, its derived from castor bean, but in many cases is used as a strong ingredient to a synthetic oil..... i.e. the klotz i run is called super techniplate, regular techniplate has no castor added. they also sell an oil called benol, which is very strong in castor. it is also dirty! but is insane at protection. klotz will mix with all exotic fuels, and you will see benol run by many microsprint racers who use alcohol.

I run a touch of 2 stroke oil in the gas of my 4-stroke just for the smell, plus a touch of top end lube. But that smell.......Cam.

PS I think most of the synth oils are so good that its impossible to find a winner, just a preference. When you run an oil brand/type forever and have excellent results its hard to switch... unless it smells better.

I haven't tried it, but have been told that you can add a spoonful of vegetable oil to your tank if you like the smell of Castor with no ill result!
