• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

we have rain and snow up at the course as of today. by next Saturday....perfect conditions for racing a single track hare scramble.

I did bike prep which included putting my small comfortable OEM tank back on.....but next day..I got the run out of fuel jitters and reinstalled my IMS insurance tank...job aint done right right until its one at least twice. Bike is ready now. as am I

wow this was a good one. my report, in short bursts, signed masters their 46-55 yo open class ( Im 56), did MX starts for each line, we had 3 in front of us pro, open expert, vet, us masters, sen 56+ open, novice. I got P2 from the holeshot, ran in P2 for while but got passed to P3 before 1/2 race, got passed and pushed off the podium about a couple miles from finish. loops were about 9.5 miles we did 4 laps 1.5 hours plus one lap I still need to check the stats. Bike is flawless, runs like a tractor carburates perfectly 60:1 K2 Maxima , no spooge dark brown plug (OEM Mikuni JD and Torque wing equipped)....AER48 is just wonderful, shock has been amazing with just clicker adjustments. LR won the 56+ open class on his new ride the Yamaha YZF450X. Next time I will race in my age group, it was way too much work to try to keep all the 10 year younger guys at bay!!!

LR is just one of the former top pros that still likes to ride, he's super friendly always smiling and has no issues riding a trail ride with us mere mortals on any given weekend.
He's a true gentleman racer. And a great representative for the AMA Hall of Fame, both Nationally and Internationally.
FYI he rode his new bike for the first time in a race, Yamaha YZF450X, when he came up on me (he started on the older guy line onw row back) I forget he was on blue and thought who the hell with 600 series number on a Yamaha is catching me up......but as he went by with his name plastered across his shoulders......I remembered even after seeing him before the race and knowing he was on a blue bike. (Green was still on my mind).
And of course the guy (60+) still rails with little or no apparent effort.

LR class act man good stuff...

glad yer still racing bud yer looking good my friend love the shot of ya charging the tires im jealous. im not aging as gracefully as most. as long as i can still kick start the husky im a happy camper! mreeeep mreeeep!

on FB there is viddy of friend Reed coming up a section and flowing in his self proclaimed diesel mode on his Wr450, then there is an H cam viddy of different class rider in that same section. Its a lot steeper that the camera shows. the H cam shows it more as that guy flails. both posted on my page to show the same section.

cams never show how steep stuff is hate that....im all wow that was hard n steep then i see the vid and its like what? looks flat! lol.
