  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2019 Fe350 Or 2020 Fe 350? Need Advice...

Hey everyone, hoping I can get some good advice. I have an opportunity to purchase a 2019 FE350 with only 400 miles and lots of options added for $8500 (ridden by an older gent who changed his mind). In doing my research I see there is a lot of info about how the 2020 model is much better (power, frame, suspension) but I don't know if it so significant to warrant the $11,500 OTD price for a the brand new 2020 left on the showroom floor. I currently have a 2012 TE250 so either way i will be moving up, but is the 2020 worth $3000 more?

Cheers!
Doug

What kind of riding do you do and are you planning on making modifications? Both bikes are extremely capable. Yes the 2020 has some updates, but that extra money for the stock 2020 may be better spent on some mods on the 2019 (suspension revalve, ECU, exhaust, etc).

Yeah, either way, you'll be moving up. As SSPhoto mentioned, the 20s are a little better.
$11,500 is a good OTD but in no way is it $3,000 better. Throw in some extra mods and you're in good shape at that price.
Now lets say you decide to change your mind like the previous owner, you're only out the tax money. On the other hand, if you sold the 2020, you'd be out even more tax money, license fees and a hefty depreciation.
In this situation, it's the 2019 for the win

Yep the 20's are way better. Pretty blue frame, pretty black muffler, they're heavier, and they have a smaller gas tank.

Get the 19 and let someone else take the hit on the new bike - and get a better bike.
