• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

  • 2 Stroke Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Austria - About 2014 & Newer
    TE = 2st Enduro & TC = 2st Cross

TE/TC 2017 TX 300

At least not everyone isn't giving up on 2 strokes! Looks good. I think i know what i will get once i don't need my 125 anymore!

Air forks...... I'll pass.... Specially if they are the "new" ones with air in left leg only... you blow a seal , which I've seen done and its game over.... give me my springs

I think its funny you guys will be going back to Mikunis

I have a collection of them ready for sale for guys that want to update their older models which have Keihins :)
Haha ya shit stirrer;)

Flat slide tmx different to the round slide husky oñes aren't they? Mikuni must have given a good deal or new/better product to swap from keihin?!

I'll jus get a lectron!

Looks like the same carb to me. They work fine on a bunch of other bikes, don't know why so many issues on IT Huskys. I almost choked when I saw that carb featured in the description

Different air screw/idle isn't it? Flat slide too where husky has curved/round? Wonder if it has anythin to do with size as no TPS(is that wat it is?) on top of mikuni? Yz125 run mikuni not sure wat the deal was with husky but lectron kicks butt

It looks to me to be the same carb as the one on Italian Huskies

Id say they are chasing top end power Shawbagga
They must have done a lot of testing and simply found that the Mikuni is the best ....:D
or you think cost cutting

I wonder if you can get to spark plug more easily looks like it sticks up a lot on the head

From the manufacturer

"The MY17 TC 250 now features a 38mm flat slide Mikuni TMX carburetor replacing the previous Keihin model. This new carburetor provides a more smooth and controllable power delivery with optimal performance over the entire RPM range. Additionally, it is also very easy to tune.

 New 38mm Mikuni carburetor → improved power delivery, optimal performance "

keihin is getting out of the carburator biz for good..(focus is all on FI systems now)..I think that is more the reason for the choice of Mikuni.

Be aware this carb has been refined/updated/re-engineered from all of Mikuni's words.

I don't think the carbs will need changing - they work well on YZ s most of the time and I ve always like d them and stuck with them on my Huskys
My issues for poor running are normally non carb related eg poor oil , fuel , compression , power valve , crappy rider

Funny the only person I know that has won a real national championship (amateur) on a 2 stroke husky is ajax on his CR125 Red husky and his National Hare and Hound P1 along with podium year end finishes too -------Red Husky CR(WR)125 run exclusively on yamalube 32:1 with race fuel-----OEM STOCK MIKUNI CARB never touched except to clean. Bike had dry gray exhaust deposits (for perfectly tuned 2T MXGP style), bike ran for mega hours with ZERO issues.

PS correct and slag me if Im wrong about the Mikuni carb being the OEM stock carb on this model (red 125)

Well, here's another one. My Ajaxauto WR250 racer has a stock Mikuni on it too. It runs great, and the only thing I did was turn the idle screw a little. I've ridden it from 1500-4500 feet and it just works! Sorry, but those Keihin carbs have too many hoses hanging off them for me. I'm with you on this one Robert. Less tinker, more ride!
