• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Pro Class
3x 25 mile loops start at Santa Veronica test 1 to remote spot start test 2 from remote spot to fuel lunch at remote spot test 3 back to rancho santa veronica. latest word be sure your bike will do 50 miles to after the second test gas stop. Im already planning a mileage test of the new evo motor and may carry a splash, but truth is there is usually a resource to carry some fuel out.

event will sellout fast be ready for the gate to drop if you want to go.
PS guy in the picture is Noah Kepple

Registration is now open at LAMC website. Me and the Beta French guy are In on same minute like last year.

the site already crashed a couple times from entry traffic piling in.

I think its sold out already--looks like they are processing standby entries. Im sure they have a block of pro/legend rider openings saved for the big dogs.

I guess its the lure of the classic event, the history of so many big name off roaders and even MX stars that have done this event. But I know many clubs would be happy to have their event sellout dang near 300 entries in one day.....we are fortunate to have this local club and the events they put on, from this big race each year to the benefit and memorial rides they also do.

Pros, Gary Sutherlin, Noah Kepple, Justin Morgan, Grant Statley, Eric Yorba, Alexander Smith, Rowan Trefz and others will be the OA players this year. In the other classes we have more than a few former top tier world class guys, LR, Zip Ty, and whole list of former ISDE vets and other top series competitors. The show will be good even if we will have a dusty day in some sections, truth is the area has more hard terrain and rocky which means lower dust...but in the past some sections can be blinding. I am ready--Listo para la Carrera. la mia moto perfecto.

I got a 3.6 gal IMS tank.... but I hate to install a new thing before a race untested. So I will carry 2L so I'm sure to make the 50 mile requirement.

I never made it to the parts without dust. I'll bet even the second loop was way better because alot of guys bailed (like me). I was having zero fun in those "conga line" uphills in the chocking, blinding dust....... Glasses plus goggles plus sweat is not a good combo.

On a side note, I met and had dinner with Dave Vick. He was riding the Masters class(60+). He rode 9 out of 10 of the first Tecate enduros starting in 1972! He's got some stories to tell......

8th 50+ Open...
.Grant P won (multi time ISDE club rider) LR 2nd, and some other fast guys like H&H 50ex racer Magane, Dave W 3rd, Chilly , another former D38 top guy, so 8th is a satisfying finish and I met my top 10 goal from about 60 50+ open guys. and looks to be on trophy as well. was a tough one and some places it was not fun like Paul said. Glad I carried the 2L of fuel that poured after the first test. I finished the second almost onto reserve.....I would have run out on the second test for sure. All went well I was a little weak on the loose hills and my buddy Reed (5th)beat me this year, first time in a few years. everyone I know is safe without injury and thats the best news.

You're my hero for even finishing the event. I'm still having Major fitness and cramping issues. Just like two years ago I got stuck behind a bunch of guys and tried to make my way around and got stuck even worse. By the time I got out I was done-helmet off and wheezing.
I know I didn't get to ride in the months leading up, but I was religious about mtn biking several times a week. Thought that should make a difference.......
