• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC 2015 TE300 air filter fitment

Cameron Lemon

Husqvarna
B Class
Been using the stock air filter plastic cage and am quite frankly not liking it at all. I can never seem to get it properly snugged down and tight like I think it should be. Is there an aftermarket cage available or any tips with using the stock one? I even switched filters from TwinAir to DT-1 and the DT-1's have that thick dense sealing foam on the outside mating surface which made the fitment worse.

I haven't hade any problems with my stock cages but I do grease the rim of the filter really well. Air intake boot is clean as a whistle. I agree with you though it is a weird fit.

I sometimes have that feeling of not getting it lined up as well.
Fact is this Husaberg arrangement a very well proven set up, nothing new about it and used for a bunch of years now at the highest levels of racing. My best feel comes with having my gloves on and installing the assy filter/cage from the palm of my hand and using my fingers to get a good feel around the lip of the assy. To feel it seated around the perimeter. Then holding it on and putting the clip on, I also recheck after the clip is on I just grab the assy in my palm and wrap my fingers around it and feel around the sides it takes seconds and works great. All this FYI.

I always have 3 filters 1 on and 2 in rotation, been thinking to even get at least 1 more cage, to have a second complete assy. RFI. yes and grease the filter seal as well.

PS ZipTy Racing will have a new viddy explaining a new custom ZipTy Racing labeled UNI filter that Ty has designed for a more solid seal fit

It says in the manual to use grease around the air box and the air filter where they meet up. I just cleaned mine and it seems pretty good

I put a thick fiber washer between the air filter and the plastic arm that holds the filter down which puts a little more force on the filter cage and then I run a bead of grease around the filter. Nothing gets by that baby!

Cage is just a little over $6. I bought 2 more, so have 2 spares cage and all. Filter swaps are fast and simple this way. I always take the seat off, so I get a better look at how filter is fitting. Easier to install, than filter on previous KTM design. My '12 Husaberg is harder to line up.
