  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2014 te250r protection parts wanted .

Husqvarna
AA Class
So, I've bought a new te250r, liked my last 2010 te250 but hated the bog etc so, this should be heaps better ! :)

Anyway, looking for a cool bashplate for it (unless the plastic one is good ?) .

Pick up Friday when it's been PD'd , uncorked, new bark busters and rad guards fitted, ready to be dropped,in the trails ! :

Anyway, if there's anything put there, that's a bit "different" I'd be keen to see them ! :)

Ps, can't find many threads on the 14 te250r bikes ?

2014 te250r is the same as the 2013.

I've got the special parts bash plate on my 310 and its held up OK and looks good.
Other options are B&B or a nice red plastic job from TM Designworks

My lady has the stock plastic plate on her te250r. The 250 is lowered so the plate has smacked a few things but still in one piece.

Husky special parts plate below...

Note: we were dissappointed with the power on the 250r when breaking it in... it was TIGHT. 100km later and much better.

Yeah I've ridden lappers/rock dancer/Ashley's 13 model, I liked it a lot, had a 300exc at the time and hated the bloody thing.

Anyway, that's a cool bash plate.

Where can I find that item ?

That TM one is a beauty, where can I buy that locally to us ? Sunny coast or Brisbane ?

I got mine when ordering the bike so it came from PFG to dealer. (It was expensive... Bash plate ( 8000h2438 ) - $260!!)

I've seen the TM plate on bike pics here only. I assume they'd be online order from US.

Check on Ebay, I remember seeing another red plate listed (hyde?) that was in AU.

Full Throttle would be the best bet for something off the shelf.

the 250/310r are awesome bikes... I still like mine alot after 3000kms

Was in full throttle today, guy there was an absolute joke...

Photo of bike online had handguards, radiator brace and bash plate....

Got there, all removed...

His excuse when asked why ??

"People remove them to stop them getting damaged......full of shit , turned and walked, he was 10 secs from an easy sale.

Maybe Stefan at R+D has them ?

They look cool, that's defo what I want.

Maybe Stefan at R+D has them ?

We, 7602 Racing, should be sending Stefan a big box of goodies in the next few days. If you're interested ask him to add a set of rad braces for your bike. Maybe save a little $$ on shipping?

yeah, been looking, one of the downsides to husky ownership here is the lack of goodies for them within 3 week wait (tm designs from USA) , they hadnt one in stock here.
hyde do one, listed as red but its black or i wouldhave bought it (mittagong nsw seller).
suppose 3 weeks will have to do unless R+D get back to me with something.
tempted by the red/black P3 carbon fibre effort, pricey but very cool ! :) again, bit of a wait ! :(

rabskyline, Congrats on the new bike and good choice on the skid plate.

If TMD have not shipped your order I would strongly consider adding one of their front sliders to your order as well.

I replaced my stock chain/40T rear sprocket for a DID VT2/48T rear at the time of purchase and I'm very attentive to proper chain maintenance and adjustment.

However, at less than 300 miles I noticed the chain on my 310R was just a couple mm from sawing into the top front of my swingarm. Perhaps the new, narrower chain had something to do with this but I doubt it. The OEM slider seems constructed with an unusually soft and rapidly wearing plastic.

The TMD replacement ($50 US) is hard as steel but the chain glides over it like it's made of velvet (a very slick velvet!). After 200 miles it shows no signs of wear.

Front Slider:

Depending on you budget TMD's Rear Chain Guide ($73) and Powerlip Rollers ($43/Pair) are likewise vastly superior to the stock units and whole system works fantastically together.

Unlike the front slider though you should get some decent life out of the OEM chain guide and rollers so I would not consider these "must do now" upgrades.

But as you already have an order placed with TMD I believe another $50 for their slider would be money very well spent.

Powerlip Rollers:

Again, congratulations and good luck with your new ride.

A little late, but Meca Systems do a nice alloy plate, with an add-on bit to help protect the oil line.
Again, expensive, and it only had to come across the English channel from France to me!

I've had them add in the kit, slider, roller and guide ! :)

That plate looks like it gives good protection to oil filter area -
seen red protective tubing to the oil cable/line that looks like a good thing
not sure what to use for that
mine has been caught/ bent already but seems ok
as you said Rabs may be good to ride with a spare one

Absolutely, that oil hose looks like an accident waiting to happen, surprised it hadn't been addressed in 4yrs....

Wonder if I can make something up ?

Have you got a spare hose ? Where'd ya get it ?

"I've had them add in the kit, slider, roller and guide ! :)"

Good call, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised by the improvement.

Looks like electrical conduit - but red

I quite like the spring option

should help deflect tree s

This is Typpys old set up I quite like

Nah, if a branch catches that hose, it's a gonner regardless of spring .

I'll try and make up a nylon/PVC deflector that will push branches around it.

Shouldn't be too hard ! :)
