  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello all!

I'll be picking up a new 2013 WR125/144 next week. The dealer will be installing the 144 kit. Just a read a thread about a throttle recap or something? Are there any real KNOWN issues with the WR125/144's that I should look out for before accepting delivery? Is there anything specific that I should look for, or have the dealer take care of?

This year / model does not come with a speedo or headlight right? Buying a poly sport headlight and trail tech speedo from the dealer as well....anyone running these?

You should pick it up asap and ride it. They are great don't worry about throttle every one on CH has hundreds of hrs on this throttle assy.

Grease all the bearings before you ride if you can. (steering head and linkage for sure) You will thank yourself later. Pack them full of good waterproof grease. Will save piles of $$ and frustrations shortly down the road. Check your sprocket bolts. Then check them again after a few rides. Alway check the nut not the bolt side. Check engine mount bolts and head stay every once in a while. If you ride really hard or jump a lot keep checking the head stay, they can crack. Down the road if you have starting and fouling issues ground your coil. Common issue on these but really just a heads up if you have issues way down the road and are wondering why it fouls plugs al of a sudden. Replace the front axle bolt with something better (EZer to get out on the trail) or make sure you pack the little tool for it. If you want more power a different pipe does wonders. The FMF is good. these are really solid and super fun bikes, enjoy.

Is is possible to put a plate on the wr125/144? Also can anyone point me in the I reaction of a nice cover for the bike?

In states like NJ you can't ride in a enduro unless you have a street registration and insurance. No title, no plate. I've been trying to find a titled frame for my 99 125 for this reason. IO can only ride it on tracks/private property.

That thing is as clean as mine was, great condition. You may kick yourself for selling it one day. If you part it out, give me a shout!

Jim
