  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 txc 310r shock spring rate?

Renzlik

Husqvarna
C Class
What is the stock shock spring rate? Nothing is stamped on the spring and I must be not looking in the right place because I cannot find it in the manual or on any threads. Thanks in advance.
What are all you 180 lbs guys (w/o gear) using on the back? 6.2?

Damn.....race tech suggests a 6.4 for 195lbs. Stock is way off. I'm going to set sag today at 105 with stock spring.

IMHO Racetech recommendations are too stiff. Unless you are a pro level MX racer, then they may be about right. Just my 2 cents.
6.0 is borderline too stiff for offroad riding and I weigh 260 plus gear.

What is the fork spring rate on a stock 2012 TE310? Racetech is saying .49 for me at 6'4" and 220lbs. Sound right or too stiff? I would rather beat up my springs then my knees. TIA

One thing I noticed about racetech is that the TXC recommendation was quite a bit higher than the TE. My 2013 TE310R shows a recommended shock spring rate of 5.8, but the 2013 TXC shows a rate of 6.6. That can't be right... I think there may be an issue with the TXC rates.

I chose Desert/Enduro/Trail, 45 & older, Dirt Amateur. I'm 6'2" and about 210 lbs.

i get 100mm race sag with @ 35-40 mm free with my race tech 6.4 rear spring I weight 210-215 without gear. (same on my 2011 TE310 and now on my 2013 TXC310R)
race tech chart calls for 6.9..... but the heaviest spring is the 6.4. I had a 5.8 from my pit box and with the 6.4 the rear is way more plush. (no coil bind). Sag is everything those numbers need to fall into place.

.47 fork, 5.3 shock OEM

Anyone know what rear spring from Yamaha, Honda, kawi, etc.......will fit the TXC shock? I would think any bike with a KYB shock would work.

the Race tech base number for TXC310R (KYB) rear spring is 6228 the last 2 digits are the rate designator 58, 64 etc. So if you punch up up some spring rate searches for known KYB shock bikes (Yam Kaw etc) and the 6228xx number comes up you can figure that that models OEM spring type will work.
