  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TXC 310, Won't Idle / Tickover ?

As title, 2013 TXC 310 won't Idle ?

Tried to adjust "Choke" Knob (34 clicks out is standard), checked connections, Cables etc...

Tried to reset TPS (not easy without Ignition Switch !). No change, let go of Throttle bike dies ?

I have been told how good this Khiein FI is ? Not seeing it so far ! Bike had new ECU at 5 hours (different problem) , now at 10 hours no Idle ???

Any Ideas ? (Bike runs great when not at Idle ?).

NO ! Seems not ?

There is the "Choke" Knob , which can be screwed out but seems to make little difference ?

I think it is a TPS not set correctly ?

There is a manual screw on the Cable "Wheel" guess I could set it there ???

Yeah was looking at manual, seems like the 'choke' knob is the idle adjust as well??.. as it says in manual, and what you stated, should be out about 34 clicks to idle at 1950 (which is what my TE250 idles at)...

I think it would be TPS settings as there doesn't seem like the air/fuel mixture is set right for idle , sorry I'm not of any more help...

Sorry I don't have any bright ideas for what might be wrong but ... when I had some strange issues which turned out to be battery related I started by measuring the voltage on the battery before, during, and after start up - at at increasing rpm's.

Tried 2 Batteries, (Super B) and Standard. No difference to Idle . Voltages are OK . ???

Anyone reset the TPS on a 310 with Khiein FI ?

Just a thought. Have you tested your water temp sensor.

When they go bad sometimes they send some incorrect messages to the ecu?

Water Sender is all OK .

I have adjusted the "Stop Screw" on the Throttle Body. Moved it a tiny amount and all is back to normal. Bike now Idles !

Dont know why it needed doing through ?

Not sure if I'm having the same issue, but my 310R ran great for around 5 hours, now it starts fine, but when i use the cold start knob the bike idles somewhat erratically. It will not stay at an elevated idle as it did when it was brand new. The bigger issue is at the same time this occurred the bike developed a bog when opening the throttle even slightly quickly. Any ideas? Where is this screw you speak of?

Sounds similar with the erratic Idle, mine did this then wouldn't Idle at all.

The screw is oppisite where the Cables enter on the Throttle Body (Top Rear). It needs a 7mm Spanner and a 2.5mm Allen Key , its a pain to adjust !
But it seems to have cured mine, I only srewed it in a tiny ammount. Not sure if this is the "offical" way of doing things but it worked !

HNA and I loaded upgraded maps onto a 310R that came into the shop which had a poor idle and seemed lean. Definitely had great power afterwards.

I have the Leo Vince Map, all seems OK after adjusting "screw" . I notice on a KTM this "screw" is a "thumb wheel" .

Thanks for the info, I will havevto try this. I also have the Leo full full titanium map. It almost seemed like the problem occured after up-loading the new map...? How about you DJ Harv Serv? Did thr problem occur before the new map was up-loaded to your bike?

Sorry for the bad editing on the last post, new phone(LOL)! I will try turning the screw in a bit in the morning and post back with the outcome.

I think the erratic Idle started with the Leo mapping, but not the "wont Idle" . I have played around with this and I moved the TPS a tiny amount (after seeking advice !), then had to move the "adjusting screw" back ! To move the TPS is easy and may solve your problem ?

Bike seems OK now, but will know after Sunday race !!!

I'm having the same problem, before and after shop remaped and adjusted tcm
This is starting to drive me crazy, hope somebody figures it out it sucks have brand-new bike run like this.
