  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 Txc 250 Hot Start Issue - Requires Bump Starting

Hey all. I've searched all hot start issue threads but none match my exact scenario. My 2013 txc 250f runs great but after trail riding for 10ish minutes, if turned off it will not e-start or kick start. Note- trail riding seems to be the main cause, even if i ride on a road for 10-15 mins i dont seem to have this issue, so im guessing its gotta be really hot for the issue to occur, but it happens everytime i trail ride.

The only way to get it going again is either wait 5ish minutes for it to cool down or bump start it. Once bump started, it runs just fine.
E-start tries to turn the engine over and sounds close, but engine won't fire. Kick starting doesn't even sound close to getting it to fire. Again, waiting about 5 minutes and then e-start and kick will work again.

Shop checked the intake and exhaust valves and both were within spec. Installed a new battery but that hasn't improved anything. Also attached a fuel pressure gage and verified that it has good fuel pressure when the issue occurs.

Very frustrated and would love for this to be resolved without too much trial and error.
Any help is appreciated.

Check the tps. Its very sensitive so you need to adjust it right. I dont remember but I think the setting is close to 600 mA.

valves: = cold start issues. not hot. yer shop totally mis-diagnosed that one. everyone knows that. get yer money back for that one. tellum to ping me if they want to argue. i live for that.

hard start hot: heat soak. leaking injector, bad sensor, TB fouled, vac leaks, etc. easy fix.

it's a 2013 hot rod. go buy some parts. replace ALL sensors and fuel pump if you can get them. simply replace everything fuel and electrical related. why?

why not?!

serial. it's a 10 year old hot rod. give it lots of love or move on. nuttin lasts forever.

cept love. you love her?

you got this.
