• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TE511 on Spring Break

Cool. Great shots. Love it down there.
I like the rear view video. I'll have to give that a try.
The music grew on me, kinda like it. Who's the composer?
Dave

I just stuck my go pro hero II on a near by cactus(?) or on a mound on the ground, then did the ride towards/away.
The music is the main theme from the movie True Romance by Hans Zimmer - an oldie but a goodie. There are two versions on iTunes, the one in the vid is the live version. It also goes by the title "you're so cool" by Zimmer, that's the movie version:)

I meant the helmet mounted cam, looking behind. That seemed to work well.
Thanks for the music notes... True Romance 1993 w/ Christian Slater. Ha. Never saw that one. Have to check it out.
Thanks.

Oh, for the reverse vid I just turned the camera backwards and tried to guess alittle bit on where the other kids were. I guess my helmet mount is a little low cause its always in the frame. I would spot them in my mirror every once in a while but I'd try not to move my head too much.
True Romance, I'm pretty sure it was a Tarantino movie, also had B Pitt, C Atkins, and a few other big names in it:)

Vid looks good. I think you nailed it. Always hard to guess the right angle. I have the same problem with my GoPro when skiing.
Yep, Tony Scott directed (Top Gun), a Tarantino script w/ plenty of stars. Heck, it's a 20 yr old movie now! I'll have to NetFlix it.

Cool Vid. Nice production. True Romance is one of my all time favorites. Love the Dennis Hopper "Sicilians" scene.
