  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TC 250R Kickstart shaft kits now available, NOT

After nearly a year of waiting, looks like the kick start shaft breaking off issue is being addressed. A new "Kit" is on the way to me. $100 now for the kit instead of $37 for just the shaft. Wanted another one for my second TC 250 I own, nope. No more available at this time. Shi@ really?

The kit comes with an updated shaft, bearing, bolt, and other nic nacs.

Compression release was the real problem, they are doing nothing about the real cause ?

I didn't know the kick shafts were a problem on these.i can see how it would be easy to break though with having to give these things such a good kick every time.guess I'll be bump starting mine as much as possible when I remember.whats the kit come with?

It's not so much the start shaft (although they have beefed it up) it is more due to when the decompression mechanism sticks. The new kit is on the way to me but I heard the dealer told me it has a new beefed up shaft along with a new bearing and spring lever. Know more when I get it next week.

Oh ok.youll have to keep us updated on how it works out.only have 9 hrs on my 2013 and am still researching into common problems to try and avoid preamptively.definately a good bike so far though.Any other common problems with yours?

I own two 2013 TC 250R's. Absolutely love it despite the issue. My other is a 2008 TC 450. That has been bullet proof so far.
