    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

2013 OCCRA Round 4 Charity Race - Guthrie, OK May 4-5 w/Special Events

Hey all. I just wanted to pass along that next weekend (May 4-5) is Oklahoma Cross Country Racing Association's annual charity race that benefits the Make Promises Happen program. This program provides activities and social times for special needs individuals. The program provides camping trips, ski trips and other activities in which many of these individuals wouldn't otherwise get to participate. So, the money goes to a great cause and you get to have fun while doing it. Campers and spectators are welcome, so feel free to come out for the entire weekend and please spread the word to anyone you know with a dirt toy! We also have practice time, so if you want to try out the track before you sign up, then just show up during the practice times on the flyer ($5 gate fee applies).

Like I said before, all proceeds from this event go to Make Promises Happen, INCLUDING the net proceeds from the regular OCCRA points races. We are also offering a weekend membership for those that would like to participate in the OCCRA races but will not be racing the entire season. Its not too late to race for points, though, so you could also sign up for an annual membership!

Also note that OCCRA is on the 2013 Husqvarna Contingency program so here's another opportunity to grab some Husky bucks!
