  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 310TXC problem

Well guys I'm back. Bought a new 13 TXC310 raced it for a year after setting it up perfectly. Sold bike during divorce. I really missed bike!! Only bike who had me not missing TXC is My 2015 YZ250FX. FX is a damn good bike!! Saw TXC on Craigslist last week with same #plates I had on it. Bike has not been used much because bike developed a problem running. I picked it up for 2k and when I sold it had 30 hours on it. Probably has 40 hours total based on the fact it still has tires I sold it with. Anywho...bike will start but will not rev and cuts out. I have not picked it up yet but will on Sunday. So what could it be....Bad injector, black box or???? Bike has suspension revalved for me, FMF exhaust, tall seat, GPI radiators and hoses, Scotts damper and post and much more!! Has mousses front and back so I know guy has not had them changed. Felt like a hero on bike and it's lIke I'm getting an old friend back. I know I can jump on this bike right away and feel great!!
I haven't kept up on parts for this bike. Are parts available? Previous owner had KTM shop adjust valves and check everything out. Valves were good and fuel pump is good. I'm hoping it's just an injector or something easy. I'll change out fluids in fork and shock and riding soon...I hope.

congrats for getting the bike back. Parts are still not too much of a problem for it- good availability.

When you pick up the bike (and then check the basic, obvious stuff: bad gas, rag in the filter, exhaust plug in, loose coil connection, bad plug, etc) a couple of weird things should get a look:
  • bad/clogged injector
  • coolant temp sensor
  • split in fuel filter or hose (or similar reason for low fuel pressure)
  • loose battery or other electrical connections (do this first- easiest)
  • possibly sheared rotor key... slightly doubtful
I doubt that the ECU has gone bad- but check the connector at least.

let us know what you find.

good luck.

Bet you have bunch of stuff down in the injector.

Mine had green and black plastic pieces in there.

Cleaned injector and ran fine again.

Mine did same thing. Idle fine but hit gas and would cut out and or backfire.

Picked up bike today. Felt like I was reuniting with an old friend!! Bike started right up but has problems I stated earlier. I'll start with coolant sensor first and send injector to ZipTy racing. Hopefully this will solve problems. On another note.....anyone use the JD Jetting fuel controller? It's $200 on Ebay and wondering if it's worth it.

No need to send your injector away.
Most towns should have an injection specialist (for cars)
Same injectors in bikes.
Have them test and clean it.

Uncouple, clean and treat all efi plug connections as any corrosion will affect sensor readings and running.

Hey guys!! Long time away from here. Just thought I'd update you on 310. I replaced the fuel injection at a cost of $600. Bike has never run better. I only use it for trailrides now with my daughter but love it everytime I ride it. I've got 2 other racebikes that I use most of the time. Don't want to wear this bike out. Its first year it was my main race bike and loved it!! Bike only has 44 hours on it! Hope it stays running for another 100 hours!! Here's a pic of bike.

You replaced the fuel injection??

The whole throttle body with an injector, TPS, MAP, et al?

Save your old stuff. Congrats.
