  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st 2012 WR, Change speedometer setting from 21" to 17"?

Hi guys. I just completed the supermoto conversion on my 2012 WR300.

Only issue is that the speedometer now of course shows very high numbers. Is there any way to reconfigure the OE speedometer for 17" wheels? Did read through the WR300 manual but nothing there. I figured maybe the same dashboard is used on some of the SMS/SMR models as well?

I have the same issue with my '87 430sm that I'm using speedo and headlight from my '14 Wr300.
I looked through the owners manual too and didn't see an option for tire size in the manual or in the menu on the speedo.
Unfortunatley I don't think it's possible with this speedo. I use my phone with a speedometer app.IMG_2665.jpeg

It's a supermoto, you don't need no stinkin speedo. Sorry I can't help, hope you come up with a solution

Thanks for the answers guys.

Will try sourcing a speedo from a SMS/SMR model frmo the same era and try that instead then, as I do want to keep stock looks/functionality/wiring as much as possible.

And yes I kinda need a speedo :) Especially to pass inspection every 24 months.

DD is right...get a TT set up...

the mag is on the rotor on the 12 300. no work around for that unless you go new rotor, caliper, lines, wiring, display, etc....

just put all the stock stuff nicely packed in the parts bin and get a TT display set up. they are very nice and very accurate. it's a 1 hour job and easy peasy.

been there done that....
