  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

They are selling really cheap right now and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one. I have searched and read many threads and everybody who has bought one really loves them. My question is has anybody have any negatives about the bike and how long should a 310 motor last before a rebuild?

There are a few guys here that put some really hard racing miles on the 310 without issues. It seems (from what I've read) the TE has a few flaws. The TXC however is amazing. Everyone is obviously caught up on the new red heads but I've run it from 6500 ft to about 9000 and that it was a great bike. Not that my opinion carries much weight be ause I don't own one but I say get it if the price is right to you. I have spent several full days on one and have never had so much fun
 
There is a thread that MikeB did a nice job on with his 12 310. He's really got his arms around it and has some good stuff in his thread.

Well think you can look at it several ways.

Prices are really good right now and we all know changes are coming.

Once those changes take effect, I usually wait a year till dust settles and new models get a good year on them to work out any issues.

So, now might be a good time to pick one up, ride it till dust settles.
 
Should be OK with TXC as it has 12 Point Injector & ECU . Transforms FI and Bike !

My old TE310 2011 now has aprox 120 hours (Racing) and not been apart !
