  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I just bought a new 2012 txc 310, and need a little help with accessories. 1) radiator braces? 2) aftermarket pipe is it needed?? What else do you suggest? I mainly ride single track. I also have a 09 wr250 and a 92 wrx 360. I will post pics asap.

Same here - new TXC310. At about 10 hours it has picked up a lot of steam from new. My single track (Arizona desert) test loop took exactly 1 hour a couple days ago on the little Husky. For reference my previous best times over the past year were 1 hour 5 minutes on a CRF450R and 1 hour 8 minutes on a KTM300XC. Pretty impressive - it's quick. I usually ride with equal riders on KTM 200, 250, and 300 and find the little Husky more than holds its own in acceleration, braking, and cornering. (I'm 6' 192# 59yr old B rider) To be honest I haven't even checked the sag or clicked a clicker yet and the suspension is very good! The stock Pirelli tires have also really impressed me.

So far I've I've added Polisport sharp handguards, a light weight battery, Rekluse clutch, and Tubliss inserts. A local radiator shop made a hose for me so I can use the Husky clutch lever for a left hand rear brake. I have the ZipTy front axle nut and fuel pump elbow but haven't installed them yet. And an Akrapovic racing system is on order mostly because I need a spark arrestor and 94db for racing. I think the Akra may fill in the lower midrange just a bit for even better drive out of turns as well as add a couple HP on top. Thinking about finding a way to actuate the clutch with the cold start lever for occasional fanning.

I agree, it does take about 10 hours before the motor really breaks in. I've got about 15 hrs. on mine and it I like more every time I ride it. Let us know how the akra system works.

I removed the small pipe in the muffler and after that the bike revv's more quickly but now sounds like a fire breather. Give up a little on the sound but it opens up the bike to run better
