    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

2012 TE310, how to make it run well

I too have been thinking about getting the TXC injector and ECU but am afraid to install it and have to reset the TPS b/c there are no dealers within 3 hours of me. Has anyone just put the 12 port injector in and left the stock ECU??


The 12 port injector made my '11 TE250 run very rich. Bill dialed it back into shape for me, but it was a substantial change (30% or so IIRC)

Where do you live?

Someone may loan you iBeat if you have a PC and serial connector.
 
12 port injector and ecu is plug and play for my 2012 TE310 with power up mods. No ibeat or tps issues. BMP, Salem, Ore for parts.

Yeah...you can do it yourself, but do yourself a favor and get iBeat software and cable while you still can.
 
There are guys still selling iBeat in the classified section. You could pick it up used instead of paying full price. Either way, one trip to the dealer to do a TPS reset will cost nearly as much.

The ECU is just a simple switch out. The injector has two screws that might require a little impact screwdriver work. There's a pretty good chance this bike will run well without any iBeat adjustments, well enough that you can wait till you have another reason to visit the dealer or come across someone who had iBeat and will let you use it. I would do the switch and not worry.

ETA if it starts easily now, it will likely do so after the switch.
