  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What are you guys running for sprockets on your TE310?
I'm stock on the countershaft and have a 50 on the rear. I'll just be using it offroad on two track and single track sand terrain. I'm just curious as with this setup I feel like I might be a bit short and was thinking of going down a couple on the rear.

I'm running 12/50 on mountain ST. I think I'm going to go 12/52 as I need a bit lower in some instances, like steep rocky stuff at 9-10,000 feet. The 12/50 just doesn't have enough torque if you have to stop in that stuff. I can hit about 60-65mph at about 12k with the 12/50 gearing. I don't know what 12/52 or 12/53 is going to do to my top end, but I don't use sixth gear much anyways, so I think it is going to be worth the trade off. I have a te310 with the 2012 txc ecu and injector.

You can always add 1T to the FS also ...Easy and cost effective ... It should really open up the feel of that CR tranny ... Top end speed is only modestly helped though ... And not too bad on trails unless you get into the stuff these others guys running the 12T FS are riding ...

A 14 tooth wont fit (well it will-JUST) and will wear a nice groove in the clutch slave cylinder, so not recommended. Most guys in OZ run 12/50 or 13/50

13/52 makes tight woods tolerable without worrying you'll smoke the clutch.

@ 13/52 50 mph is max comfortable cruising speed without screaming the engine to death.

Isn't stock 14/40? I might change to 45 or 47 but really haven't gotten it out on the trail yet. Normally not that much single track in what I do.

I run 13/50 on my 2008. The contrast is interesting. On one I've shifted 2 or 3 times across the intersection and on the other I'm still in first waiting on traffic to get enough speed for 2nd.

Where did you get your 12-tooth countershaft sprocket, and are there any issues with chain or slider wear with the smaller front sprocket? I've currently got the stock 13-tooth front with a 49-tooth Ironman in the rear. If I go 52 in the rear, its going to cost me about $210 for a new sprocket and chain. Replacing the front would be more economical, but I don't want to cause other problems in the process. Thanks.

I got my 12 t here; http://motosportzhusqvarna.com/Husqvarna X-Lite TE, TC, TXC, 250, 310.htm

I have seen no issues, but have not had it very long.

I got it from my local dealer, I think it was off a 2010 TC250 as they aren't listed for the TE
