  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TE 511 "FAIL"

Husqvarna
AA Class
Just put the bike back together after greasing all the wheel and suspension bearings. Started up fine but shows "Fail" on the odo and stumbles a bit if I twist the throttle. I'm pretty careful how I go about things but this clearly a problem. Will contact my dealer tomorrow but in the mean time wondering I anyone has any feedback. Fresh air filter/not over oiled. All electrical connections good. Connections to throttle body good.

Did that and will again just in case. Also just noticed that my upper petcock is not opening. Noticed the low fuel light when starting. Can't see that making the diff though as the lower tank still has fuel, but maybe.

Idles fine, little throttle = fine, try to twist it = bog.

I had the intake to the throttle body covered while working on the rest of the bike but wondering if maybe I got something in there.

Also realized that none of my plug wrenches will fit in that hole....Now I feel really dumb.

Code 223 second tps voltage high
No word on when I'll have it back yet. Dealer having difficulty getting info from Husky.
Will update when I find out more.

same thing happened to my 449 when I installed my jd tuner.. it idled extremely high and hot and would bog when twisting the throttle.. both my primary tps and secondary tps had failed and read high voltage.. dealer ordered them for me about 3 weeks ago and im still waiting supposedly they will be in end of this week or beginning of next.

halls has a secondary tps in stock for a 449 i dont know if it works with the 511 but its worth a shot

I get the "FAIL" message on the dash periodically. Bike always seemed to run fine with or without it. After a restart or two the message goes away so I never worried about it.

Fail stayed on. Idled fine but would stutter horribly with 1/4+ throttle.
Still waiting....weather is amazing here as well. Absolute torture. At least I can get out for a little rip on the CRF230L. Not the Husky but a fun little trail bike just the same.

Problem solved. Apparently my bike has a gremlin.
Dealer tried a new sensor and got the same code. Did a reset via computer - same result.
Through further investigation found that there is a specific installation procedure for the sensor.
Apparently it cannot just be plugged strait in. There is a spring loaded mechanism that requires a twist for it to seat properly.

Still weird as I didn't remove it to begin with. But at least it's back in action.

haha i have a crf230l too.. now my dads, but i still have fun on it occasionally, pretty much has 0 hpower even after uncork but the thing is as reliable as it gets. 10,500 miles on ours and never any problems, fires up on first start each time.

I finally got my sensors after waiting 5 weeks only to find out the throttle body plate is bent and need a new throttle body. Very od considering my bike has 30 miles and the only thing done to it was installed the jd tuner. This has been a very frustrating process
