  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TE 310 Set Up

ADVRacer

Husqvarna
C Class
I recently picked up a brand new leftover 2012 TE 310 US / Canada version from a dealer in PA. I'm in Chesapeake, VA. I didn't receive the full power kit at the time of purchase. Here's what I've done so far:

Got it completely street legal
Removed the license plate holder / installed tag on lip under tail light
Removed blinkers
Removed the emissions canister
Modified the air box (Opened it up)
Removed the throttle stop
Removed the catalytic converter
Disconnected the o2sensor and installed the sensor eliminator. Haven't removed sensor yet, waiting on header plug.

After I removed the O2 sensor, the Race Maps were showing on the computer screen. I took it out in the woods for the break in ride and it runs like crap. The throttle won't hold steady power at anything less than full throttle, it surges. It stalled repeatedly and eventually the battery was dead resulting in the bike and I kicking each other for a couple hours. I think the bike won, my ankle is sore as hell. I don't have a dealer anywhere close so I have to do the set up myself. I've been reading the threads regarding 12 point injector, TXC ECU, Power Commander, I beat and JD Tuner. I can turn a wrench and am willing to do this myself but I'm not a rocket scientist. Can someone speak real slowly and walk me through this.

The bike is running very lean the way it is now plus they run like hot garbage for the first 6 hours or so until they break in. Order the TXC ECU and 12 hole injector and let us know when it arrives. We can then walk you through the installation process. Mudvane just installed his last week and wrote a good review on the install. Not rocket science but some patience needed. I had Halls Cycles do mine since I was unsure about the TPS reset but it sounds like the TPS reset may not be always required. Also, you can buy the header plug from an auto parts store.

12 port injector and ecu for sure. We add powercommander 5's on top of this setup to enhance the 310's further.
