  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 Stock Leo Vince Exhaust

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I have concluded that I am likely not good enough of a rider to take advantage of a race exhaust. I really don't need anything more on top, but could use a little more on the bottom. I have heard that installing a DB killer vs spark arrester can provide more torque down low. Can anyone verify that, and is a DB killer available for the stock Leo Vince silencer on my 2012 TE310? Thanks.

IMO the stock exhaust is too restrictive as is and adding a DB killer will cause more restriction. That is my non medical opinion. It is also a heavy muffler(2lbs heavier) compared to a FMF. Just give in and get a new exhaust, you deserve it:cheers: Maybe Santa? If this fever I have keeps up, I may have a FMF system up for sale soon. Looking at a 2013 TE449 or 2014 TE310r and from what I understand, the headers are different on the r models...

a DB killer came with my power-up kit parts, I did not notice any difference in power between using the spark screen insert and DB killer insert. The bike sounds better with the DB killer, but I need the screen. I think this is the same part for the '12 310 (mine is the 250) part # is 8000H7303 but better double check before ordering.

Interesting. I just compared the standard silencer for my 08 TE310 with an Arrow alloy one. Standard one was 3kg heavier. So the Leo Vince is much lighter than the old standard silencers?
