• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

450 Class, Moto 1 Recap

After last weekend’s drama filled moto 1 in this dynamic 450 class, we came to the last round here in California to end the season with a bang. Justin Barcia was looking to be a spoiler in the last couple of races this season but the two top riders kept their cool and consistency riding until the end. Coming into the first moto of the day Villopoto had a 14 point lead over Dungey in the standings.

This was an exciting 450 moto 1 with Reed going down in the first turn, and Mike Alessi taking the holeshot. Barcia was in the lead for the beginning stages of the moto and then fell back after getting the lead taken over by Villopoto. RV came from 3rd behind Dungey to first. Ryan Villopoto extended his lead in the 450 class and continued his success in the first moto. Now the championship is within sight with only one moto left in the season.

450 Class, Moto 2 Recap

The last moto of the season brought luck to Chad Reed at the beginning of the race. He led most of the first-half, before crashing towards the midway point and relinquishing the lead to Justin Barcia in the process. Soon after that, Ryan Dungey was able to edge Barcia and take the lead, going on to win the race.

Ryan Villopoto, who was definitely favored to win coming into this weekend, secured the championship. He's become the 12th rider to win a supercross and motocross title in one year.

I watched Justin Bogle beat everyone at the Mammoth Motocross earlier this year and then he got into the end of the 250 series and at Pala got 2nd in the last Moto. He should be a factor next year.
