  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 Te310 plastic fuel fitting

Tim Randall

AA Class
Hey guys
just wondering whats the easiest way to change over the fuel fitting to the zipty one?

I have got the zipty fitting here and I am not planning to ride for 2 weeks so some maintenance is due, thought id change this over while im pulling the bike apart :)

cheers

Take off the tank. Drain it. Take off the two screws that hold on the plastic elbow pull it out. Remove the two o rings and put them (or new ones if you have them) onto the zipty elbow push it back in the tank replace the cover plate and two screws. Then put the tank back on. It will still be a bit difficult to put the fuel line back on but much better than the stock. you may need something to pry off the o rings i used a very small screw driver...be careful not to damage the oring if you plan to use it again.

Good advice.

I also unplug my line at throttle body first. Then that is the last one I plug back in.

Does anybody know if the Zip-Ty replacement fitting will work on the 2012 TE310? I'm going to be pulling the tank to install a TXC ECU and injector. Thought I might as well swap out the tank fitting while I am at it. Thanks.

Just working through it now, wondering while the tanks empty and stuff should I go about and change the fuel filter?
Bike has 60 hrs :)

Does anyone know where to get one for my 2008 TE 250? Haven't had a problem yet and had the bike since new with quite a few gas tank removals and no problems, but don't want to have a problem out in the woods and wish I had replaced it with a metal one.

You can get one from Zip-Ty Racing, but they're on backorder right now. See the link on post #7. Does the '08 TE have FI?

Try Halls tomorrow, saw one in display case, last time was there. Kelly @ Motosportz might have thrm as well.
