  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE310 - No dash, no fuel pump Good battery voltage..

Hello my husky Brothers and Sisters

I'm hoping you can help me.

I was prepping my mates TE310 which hasn't been ridden since march, I put the key in the ignition and turn to run, nothing happened, no dash and no fuel pump with the run/kill switch. I checked the battery voltage and it's sitting at around 14v (It's a lithium battery). When I kick the starter everything on the dash momentarily appears (unitl the end of the stroke). All fuses are intact, not sure where to go from here. I'm unfamiliar with Lithium batteries so am not sure if it has voltage and no current or something.

On the plus side I just cleaned the air filter on my 310 and I'm good to go!

I appreciate any assistance.

Have you found and checked the fuse in the starter relay as well as the 3 fuses under the right hand side panel?
If all fuses are ok, it looks like a bad or broken connection on the main battery cables and grounds (assuming the battery is ok) Have you also verified the fuses with an Ohm meter? They can crack and look intact.
A logical work through the wiring with a multi meter from the battery onwards should find the fault.

if the fuel pump is not running it could be the one fuse closest to the rear end - the fuse holders are not good allowing dirt to enter and prevent contact.

Lithium batteries will show 14vdc even if they are low on amperage. Charge the battery or replace it with a know good one and test. If the lithium battery ran flat it may not recover since they don't like being drained. Good luck and let us know the outcome.

Hi Everyone, sorry it took me a while to come back to you.
It was the fuse on the left hand side which although was intact failed when I tested it, threw the spare in and we're back in business!!

Thankyou all.
