    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

2011 TE310 and Battery

My TE310 has been running a little wierd on the last 2 rides and not starting as well as usual. I thought it was a fuel related issue, but appears that is not the case.
Then yesterday I had to ride my ex-RM125 (which aint a bad thing) because my TE was dead, when I kicked it the lights would come on for the kick then die right out and of course the F.I. pump could not get fuel to the injector so I parked her.
Got home and yanked the Ballistic 4 cell , cleaned the visibly corroded terminals and installed my OEM YTZ Yuasa she fired right off, but then it became intermittant with key on all was dead, the ignition relay seems to be sticking on and off when I cycle the key. Seems like an easy troubleshoot op.,
I will be back with her later and 2 moro morn to finalize the fix. Most any corrosion on the bike can only be 99% from me washing (she has not seen too much water on the trail, only a few instances)
So nothing new, as stated before here on CH the 11 model TE310 will not run/well with a bad battery/connection.
 
No warranty no sweat, so far just a battery terminal issue I even think the 4cell Ballistic is still good, if not I can stuff my OEM lead acid batt back in. And if the relay is bad just a simple replacement will do. In my mind this all normal/average maintenance stuff, Ive been riding the heck out of this machine, its doing great. RN
 
Yep - battery/connection issues can make funny things happen on these fi bikes.
When my Ballistic went bad it developed an intermittant vibration induced open which caused the bike to have a mid-range miss.
 
I think mine was doing the same issue, I tapped on it and it worked sometimes. I thought it may be coincidence because it finally s&*t the bed shortly after. The Yuasa YTZ-7 works great, we did a long loop yesterday with no issues hot or cold.
