  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE 511 power up plug

Hi all, new to the forum. Just bought a 2011 TE 511, I'm pretty happy with the bike but just have a few questions. I've read a lot about these power up plugs, looking under the seat on mine I'm pretty sure it's already been done, is it a little black plug with a wire coming out the back of it and going back onto it's self? I'd take a photo and post it but haven't worked out how to do that yet lol

Another questions is I've seen these JP tuners online for sale with 6 maps programmed into them, are they worth the $300 for a power upgrade?

And lastly I'm planning on riding the bike mainly on road (8km trip to work) and am going to need to get a smaller rear sprocket for the road use, was thinking a 44 tooth, can anyone give any suggestions to what size sprocket would be suitable?

Thanks in advance : )

Finally a reply! Thank you Tinken, I went with a 43 tooth, havn't ridden it yet though because im waiting for new tires at the shop. The ecu up grade looks tempting, would be a while to wait though because I would have to send from Australia to USA, not sure I would want to go that long without being able to ride the bike lol

How would this upgrade compare to the DIY JD tuner?
