  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

wont start. warmed up fine this morning, changed oil and now it wont start. dont have a servicemanuel but has a fresh qt. of 5/15w and new oil filter. level is half way up the site glass, cranks and semi-starts but quickly dies out. was almost completely out of gas prior so after oil change filled up with ultra. anything to do with the oil change? or just coincidental? can here the fuel pump working, im stumped. s.o.s.

A Quart of oil is too much-they only take 800mls, but I reckon its just a coincidence, did you happen to do the air filter as well, mine won't run properly until the oil sits for a day or so.

Unplug the temp sensor and try and fire it up again. If it starts and your fan runs constantly then its the temp sensor. Mine has done the same thing cheap and easy fix.

HI MINE LET ME DOWN 2 KLM IN THE BUSH AND HAD TO PUSH UP HILL TO GET TO A TRAIL THAT THE 4WD COULD GET IN TO. I JUST TURNED IT OFF TO HELP A MATE AND THEN IT WOULD NOT START THE PUMP WAS NOT RUNNING BUT IT WAS TURNING OVER OK AFTER A WHILE IT STARTED FOR A SHORT TIME THEN DIED AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. IT IS IN THE SHOP AT THE MOMENT BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS

It looks like I have the same issue with the temp sensor. Do you have to drain the coolant to change the sensor?

No, leave the radiator cap on and "siphoning effect" should prevent a lot of spillage. Heard of guys only loosing very small amounts.
