I inquired on this website as to what mx set up was being used for the 449 because the bike definitely felt unbalanced and very "stink buggy" to me in stock form. So I decided to list what I did to mine with huge improvements especially in handling. First both ends got the stage 2 MX valving from Pro Action. The rear shock was lowered 4mm at the shaft and the forks where brought up into the triples to the second line (10mm) The bike is definietly more planted and even now and corners much. much better. I am 6'2 at 205 so 49's up front spring rate and 5'4 rear. The bike is very Rear height sensitive and notice as you start spending fuel the bike starts to handle differently due to the tank is right over the rear wheel I believe. So with the tank toped off I decided on 115mm race sag. This seems tobe where the bike is happiest with enough margin to be within 108 to 115mm at any given time. The last thing i did which for me made the package fit was Fastway evo3 footpegs in the low position. Much better grip with my knees this way and actually helps quite a bit with hitting the rear brake peddle. Have had a few times where I had missed it in stock form. This bike is awesome just need to take the time to figure her out. Not a lot of R & D done on this bike and rumor has it Husky is changed the 449 completely in 2013. Thought this might help someone else.
