• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi, I'm a newbie to this site. Trying to get a few answers about my new 630! Is there any benefit to removing that black charcoal canister on the right side of my bike? If so , what do I do with the vacuum line coming from the engine to the canister ? Also the 2.2k resister I will be installing when removing o2 sensor, which wires will I jump with it?

The benefit of removing the charcoal canister is that it eliminates a big hunk of ugly off of the bike.

Some people put a vacuum line cap on the nipple that is left sticking out of the engine. Some people remove the nipple and plug the hole with a small bolt.

I'm not exactly sure which wires to jump. I bought the ready-made jumper plug and just plugged it in.

There's a very detailed thread specificly for the DIY power up. Vacuum to head gets pluged. Vent from tank rerouted like the over flow. The resister plugs in where the wires lead from o2 sensor. There are mod to airbox that will help and aftermarket cans are a plus. A lot of the 630 guys will say the JD tuner is also a big help! Good luck and enjoy!!

Thanks guys.... PU kit done, canister gone, airbox stripped! Bike is running much better now, and much more power! JD tuner, or power commander ?? Sounds like JD is most popular choice! Any suggestions on a pipe?

Unplug the O2 sensor and jumper the plug that goes back to the ECU with the resistor. Wrap with electrical tape and you should be good. Bike will run a lot better, but if you really want to unleash it, do this

Take baffles out of air box
Leo Vince pipe
Power commander and auto tune

Feels like it makes 15 more hp

If you're happy with that, just ride it. The only reason I put the Leo Vince on mine was for the weight savings.
