  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TE310, won't start hot

My friend's 2010 TE310 would not start today after stopping for a short break - it ran fine right up until he shut it off and then it would not start for about 45 minutes. Then it magically fired right up, obviously something cooled down. It happened two times today. Anybody had that happen and have the answer ? The bike only has about 200 miles on it. Thanks

Make sure there is coolant in the rediator.
make sure you have a working spark plug-sometimes they get difficult when hot. Also make sure spark plug boot is on tight
check oil level
It is probably not withstanding the above a fueling matter and if this continues its a matter of getting back to the dealer to sort out.

Sorry - yes, it cranked over fine. It sounded like it was priming when he turned the key on. Could smell fuel after a bit, so I believe it was getting fuel. There was not a hint of firing until after the cool-down, so I am pretty sure it was a spark issue. When it did start, it fired right up normally. The fuel tank was almost full, oil level was good.

If after the ignition is off and he turns on the starter you hear the fuel tank pump "prime" then it could be a bad temp sensor. If it doesn't prime or the pump is struggling to prime then it's the pump. The pre 2011 Husky's were notorious for faulty fuel pumps and in hot weather they gum up and don't prime the motor correctly. I had that issue only in hot weather and replaced the pump...now no issues.
