  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 te250 problems

Got a 2010 te250 a few months ago and have had nothing but problems. I got a new battery the week I got the bike and it ran great, but now the fuel pump isn't coming on when you turn on the key on and it won't start. We have done some looking and decided the problem was the water temperature sensor. When I put the sensor in it started right up and ran fine. But after about 2 weeks of riding it is doing the same thing it was before I put the new sensor in. Soo I got another sensor and it didn't fix anything this time. Somebody please help!

Plenty of threads on this issue. There are aftermarket fuel pumps (e.g. California Cycleworks) that will cure the problem with the fuel pump.

I thought that was also the problem until I put 12volt on the terminals of the fuel pump and it spins right up. Never failed.

The fuel pump might spin fine when cold, but in the tank, with heat from the engine, the pump can swell up inside and quit spinning. Listen to the pump when it is priming when cold and then listen to it priming when the bike is real hot, see if there is a difference.

Also, check the green with red stripe wire under the tank, a very crucial wire. Also, check the gear position sensor below the clutch slave cylinder, any moisture that gets inside that will mess up the bike being able to run correctly.

You need a new electical harness.
all 2010 bikes in sweden got a new 2011 harness on guarantee.
I got the same problem with my bike when it was new.
