  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TE250 Ordered

Well Congrats! Hey what helped you pick the 250 or the 310 the new engine? Also how do the new plastics/grafix look? Thanks, John

Cool, I didn't think about the weight difference but I do agree 11 lbs is a lot. Hey you'll blow through those 10 hrs before you know it then it's game on. Enjoy!

Thanks for all your opinions through questions i asked on other threads.
It's been great help in getting me to a decision.
So i checked out the TE250 & 310 yesterday and the 250 is what i finally decided on.
I was in TAS Performance in Moneymore Northern Ireland, yesterday with David and he gave me loads of his time and advise.
By the end of it i parted with a deposit for a new 2010 TE250.
Should have it within the next couple weeks.

I guess I need to wait till jan to pay up my 2010 club membership, so as to get the club stamp on my licence application form?

yeah thats right, if you dont have a local club, you are as well to join TORC as they are good at sending out all the entrys and regulations, plus the results emailed to you.

you also need a medical for the licence. TORC have a agm in january where they bring the mcui guy to it and you can get the whole job done on the day. or what i do is to send them both applications and a an extra stamped envelope, they stamp the licence form and forward it on for me to the mcui.

how long did TAS say it would take to get the bike?
