• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

"A record crowd turned out to watch nearly 1500 competitors go at it in a driving rainstorm in Morganton, North Carolina"

"The conditions at the Steele Creek campgrounds were perfect when the race got underway, but a steady rain moved into the area just as the flag dropped to start the 3-hour race. From there, conditions deteriorated quickly as the rain got harder, and in fact, the race had to be shortened after a gnarly hill at the 8-mile mark became so muddy nearing the three-hour mark that nearly 40 riders were stranded on it, forcing organizers to pull the plug and revert the scoring to the previous lap."

you mean Oz rider..........Fortner is from NY and been the top privateer for Husky in GNCC for the past 3 years. Could probably break into the top 5 easily with some Factory support for his tried and true war horse WR250. He is a mudder too. Worse the conditions..better he does. Kearney is like the too. Sign of a strong and dedicated rider.

HOOAAH!
Joe

Whibley(ok NZ).Strang, Kearney, 3 of top six from "down under".
Joe, I just meant from all of the riders not just Husky guys.
I saw that Homero Diaz (Mx) was the mix as well for this one, thats 40% foreign riders in the top ten.
How old is Fortner? got a future as a pro?

Got it on your Oz thing........was thinking Husky centric.
Fortner is 23 or 24 not exactly sure.
If something gave him the opportunity....he would kick.
