  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 husky 450 txc purchase

Will the r&d flex jet be able to fix my lean pilot jet? Also p-3 performance had nice carbon header guards and mid pipe guards that I'm interested in

Just picked up a left over 2010 450TXC. Still breaking in at only 2.5 hrs. Love it!
How many hours on yours now? Any problems/issues to report?

my local dealer is pulling the pin on his remaining Huskies, guess the locals consider them a little too exotic, what is the going price on a new 2010 in Canadian $$?

Who is that dealer Steve? Unless he is taking a serious pill on them, you can buy 11s for less money than a leftover 10 with the current rebates.

Your engine will be already broke in as much as it will go by now, so no point in pussyfooting around. The suspension may still loosen up a bit over the next few hours.
If you maintain these bikes properly, they'll give you a good long service life.

Countryside Motorsports. Guess KTM had a fit when they took on the Huskies, and well I guess that's their bread and butter so they're selling off the remainders and that's it. I kind of like the look of the 2010 better, plus if the local dealer is pulling the pin on the Huskies I don't want to have to deal with the fi. I just feel that it would be easier for me to have the carb, the local shops will have brass for it.

I just sold a BARELY used 2010 TXC450 (less than 10hrs) with a bunch of bling for $4999. I will let you know if I run across anything similar.

Thanks Scotty. I ended up selling my WR to pay off a sled I bought last year, I miss that bike, I still swear it was faster than my '09 GG on the top, but I'd like to try a 4t again some day. Can you put a rad fan on the 2010 TXC?

Sweet, thanks Slowpoke, is it OEM or something else? Can you control it with a switch or does it have a thermostat? Do I have to buy a different rad?

They're usually controlled by a thermostat switch, but you can use a manual switch if you want(as long as you remember to use it....). You can use the same fan as the TE 450/510 & the TE,TC & TXC rads are all the same.

Thanks for the info, now I'm really wanting that TXC, they must be pretty solid rides, you don't see much posts on them, guys are too busy out riding them.

This is my 1st husky so I am also new to game. It was a left over 2010 txc 450 out of the crate for $4995 plus pdi and taxes. The only issue I've had is the lean carb. problems. I've got the jd jetting kit but havn't installed it yet. Maybe this weekend but either way it's about as much fun as you can have on two wheels.

Your carb "problems" probably are because of a gunked up carb and not a jetting problem. I bought a bunch of 2010 non-currents and every one of them had plugged up carbs.

my 2010 txc 450 is the nicest bike ive owned . i just had to get one shim put in the valves at 22 hrs and i have been through the "carb issue". my carb has been clogged a few time which isnt that big of deal since i go over my bike after every ride. I am in the process of ordering the r&d power bowl and some 7602 carb hoses with filters in them. i have a fmf Q4 slip on, works connection hour meter, motoz tires, cycra crm bars, and 7602 oil cover. the power bowl and carb hoses should be here in one day soon ill post pictures and info on it once i get it. I do have one question though. When i downshift to slow down my bike backfires a little bit. Should I invest in a jd jet kit? Also does anyone know if i have to do any other modifications to accomodate the power bowl. Besides that issue my bike has been running flawless and wouldnt trade it for anything. except but a 510 haha
