  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 husky 450 txc purchase

Husky450txc

Husqvarna
C Class
About a month ago I purchased a 2010 txc 450. My hour meter says 13.5 hours. So far I love the bike. It's power is never ending and I've had no issues at all. Its a little on the heavy side but me being 150 lbs with my gear on helps me handle the bike much better. Does anyone else out there own one? I'm looking for tips or info bat this bike. It's my first husky and I love it but I'm not familiar with these bikes. Does it have any restrictions or is it all uncorked factory? I took off the silly spark arrestor that rattled like crazy. I just ordered a larger skid plate and a fmf q exhaust as well..will I need to re jet it for the slip on? Are there any modifications I should to to make it run top?
I'm new to this site and will appreciate all your help. I'm also gonna post some photos of the bike.

Welcome to the site and congrats on your TXC. I had the 2009 TXC 510 and it was a beast. It came ready to go without needing anything other than slight re-jetting and making sure the battery was clamped down good. I hated the stock tires it came with and took them off pretty quick and went with some Motoz. I went from spinning to power wheelies; lots of fun. I'm sure someone will chime in and give you a hand on your exhaust re-jet question. Enjoy!

i have a 09 and not sure what all transfers over but i put the bigger waterpump impellar kit on, a jd jet kit and a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket for a lil more help on the mx track and tight hilly stuff. congrats on the new bike and enjoy!

Where can I get a new water pump impeller? Also does anyone know any internet sites that has an abundance of parts for the txc? I've been having trouble finding aftermarket products

ive been told that the tc parts fit the txc, dunno if thats the case. someone on here with more knowledge will chime in on it im sure.

Anyone kno where I can find skid plates also? I appreciate all responses everyone. I'm new to the husky world so I have lots of new things to learn

motosportz.com has skid plates for your bike as well as radiator guards, rotor guards, heat shields, water pumps, etc... We are re-doing our site right now and some of the stuff like you skid plate is not on there so feel free to email us or send me a PM. Good luck, Motosportz mike.

Thanks everyone for your help I'm still working on pictures. I've got about 17 hours on the bike and so far I LOVE it...I added a fmf q4 slip on, cycra crm guards, and a motoz tractionator rear tires, also some fork bleeders. I'm still having trouble finding a skid plate that can cover the frame where the foot pegs are. That's where I'm getting most rock chips. I plan on softening the forks a little and adding a header and jd jet kit once my 20 hroint hits. Ayone ever use the r&d power bowl or pump? I'm interested in those as well from brp-moto but I don't have much knowledge on them.
Thank you

im looking at a hyde racing skid plate. they cover the frame where the foot pegs are and thats where my frame is getting the worst rocks chips. all other metal skids dont cover that area for my model. if ou know of any please let me know.

Uptite's skid plate should work. He usually goes above and beyond for coverage. I don't have a pic but I'll try and get one today and post it.
