• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Howdy I am new here so I hope this the right spot for this
I just bought a 2010 510smr and the dealer did the power
up kit the bike runs great
I think that i am gonna change the dual exhaust to a single
my plan is to buy a 2010 510te union pipe and a FMF can
My question is how much is the opened up can gonna throw off
my air fuel mixture, will i have to go in and re amp the ecu
I am a motorcycle mechanic and have a lot of experience
jetting carbs but i am new to FI my first thought is i have a
LC-1 innovate motor sports wide band O Gage i thought about hooking it up
to the new bike and see just where the A/F is then install the single FMF
and see where it went to from there Any thought's would be helpful
Thanks.

I'm running the FMF on my 2010. Bill from BMP in Salem just cut off the old duals right before the split and the FMF slips right over it. I asked them to search for a 510 mid pipe for me to have a bit more OEM fit but they are having trouble and said they aren't sure it would fit the SMR. Your best bet is probably to get a PCV and have a map made or get an autotune. Bill richened mine up using the factory iBeat program but I think he took it too far at adding 15% across the board. I'm taking it back Monday to get it zeroed to factory specs and start over with my PCV and autotune. As it is, the Autotune module is removing 20% fuel in some areas and adding 3-4% in others due to how rich the factory ECU is currently set. From what mine looks like I'd leave the position 1 and 2 at factory and richen 3 up by 5% assuming you are in "power up" mode, but the real way to figure it out is with a wide-band O2 sensor.

I am gona install the LC-1 wide band O2 set up today and
see what kind of numbers it gives me. Thanks Tee-Dub for the info

I installed the LC-1 on the SMR and went for a test ride
and the bike is running a little rich with the dealer's
settings, but this is a good place to start and if I open up
the exhaust it might bring it in closer to where I like it.
It will be fun working with EFI.

I never rode it with the stock cans. I sort of wish that I had just to see, but I had Bill install the FMF before I took delivery of the bike.

Today had some time in the shop so I thought i would take a look
at the stock mufflers , i took them apart and cut in front of the
welds on the can, then removed the cat and end tip small opening
but left the baffle in side, slid the can back together and riveted
the can shut installed them back on the bike and fired it up.
Man how sweet is this, sounds awesome deep tone not loud or poppy
went for a ride and the air fuel mixture leaned out a tad to almost perfect
