  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I know this is premature but do you think the 2010 smokers
will be updated with new frame and chain on the other side?

Is the new wr 125 a proto type for next year?

Let hear your thoughts on it. And please some photoshop expert put a 250 motor in the new 125. I have a hard time with visualization.

I think there will be a completely new 250/300 for 2010. The '09 WR125 is the model for the larger displacement bikes in '10.
The 250/300 motor is very long in the tooth('91). Husky did the 260 cheater bike in '91 and then came out with the all new 360 in '92. It could be similar, that new bikes are on the way.
If you want to visualize it, look at '09 TC250 and imagine a 2 stroke top end and pipe on that motor. Blip Blip is our ace Photoshop guy. I'll put him right on it!

Mr. Blip created this for your viewing enjoyment, but posted it on TT....

What kind of weight savingings do you think the 2010's wr250 will have with the new frame? I tried to find the weight of the 2008 wr 125 and compare it to the 2009 but could not find it. Any body know?

'09 WR125 is up in weight over the '08 according to the specs..... 222.7 to 211.6 lbs. This may be just being more honest about weights or may be dry to wet without fuel weight. I've seen listed weights on WR125's since the mid-nineties be from sub 200 lbs to the '09 weight. I can tell you this.... My '00 WR250 with all guards and equipment and a full stock 2.9 gal tank is 256 lbs and the '02 WR125, all the same is 232 lbs. These were on a certified scale. The '10 WR250 is mainly going to lose weight in the engine, the present one is large and solid.

When I saw the same thing about the weight, I just thought they were being more honest as I can't imagine the '09 WR 125 would have gained that much weight from one year to the next.
