  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2009 txc 250 will a 09 te310 barrel fit?

Neil Kleyn

B Class
Hi guys,
I have the opportunity to get a hold of a 2009 te310 barrel.
With new gaskets and piston kit will this fit my txc250?
Thanks

I think so. The 250s with the Husky engine were sold with a 310 cyl kit new for some extra dollars. A friend of mine bought a 09 new with that kit. At least we could buy the bike with that option in Sweden.

Thanks.
From what i can come up with the Athena 300 kit is the same barrel.
I just wanted to see if i could get confirmation from the guys here.

I'm just finishing off a head rebuild with new cam bearings in an 09 TE250 with Athena 300 kit fitted. Looking at the spec for deck height in the manual, it's the same for the 310 and 250. With the Athena kit, the piston sits lower, which makes sense to adjust the CR with (I assume) the smaller combustion chamber in the 250 head. I've checked the actual CR and it works out right as it is with the lower piston. Worth checking CR before finishing the assembly. Athena do some different thickness base gaskets and a +0.1 head gasket is also available.

The Athena kit works with the original ECU, you can modify the fueling in iBeat, so this should be fine too.
