• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2009 Te610: Erratic Revving/ Stuck Throttle

Don Bond

Husqvarna
Hello,

I'm new to the forum and also a new Husky owner. I recently purchased a 2009 TE610, 18K mileage but appeared to be impeccably cared after. I rode the bike only a handful of times, on pavement, before I ran into trouble.

I rode the bike a few miles home on the highway, parked it for about 15 minutes, and came out to start it up. When I started it I heard a loud pop and the bike started to rev up and down very quickly without me touching the throttle. When i would rev the throttle, it would stick at a very high RPM. The actual throttle cable appeared to not be stuck though. I tried to drive it and it was very jerky (reflecting the high/low RPM revving).

I've tried looking though the other posts to locate a similar problem but haven't had any luck.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Make sure that the injector body hasn't been dislodged by the backfire, and that the intake boot between the fuel injection body hasn't been damaged or split in any way. The bike may have been kept well, but 14 years is a long time for an original intake boot to last without becoming dried or brittle and prone to splitting or cracking.

Thank you, Dirtdame.

Is there a reliable company that you can buy parts for a Husky? I've had some trouble locating parts (as well as an owners manual).

A long time ago(+old thread but may be helpful for the knowledge base) but my TE450 blew the throttle body off and it caused this exact problem
