  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

For all of us that have an 09 and newer with a Lectron. When I bought mine last December I didn't know how long it would be. It was diffult to get in between the intake and air boot. This really bothered me so I called Kevin at Lectron and asked if it could be cut down on the reed side to better fit the intake better , he said no problem just make sure to have the sealing groove machined accordingly. So I had everything cut down and it fit much better but still not good enough for me. Next I called Ann at Motoxotica and ordered an intake manifold for a 2008 which uses the old longer tmx. The result is a perfect fit and the carb is easy to get in and out. My shock spring barely touches the airboot.I couldn't be happier with the results. As an added benefit the carburation is even better since there is a stronger air signal going past the metering rod.

I haven't fitted up my lectron yet(have the first version) is it that much of a pain in the arse to fit? do I really need to get it machined or buy a new intake boot or both? don't really want anything touching or rubbing. im having second thoughts now as to whether I should just buy the cut down version & on sell the first gen 1.

On my 09 it was only slightly harder then fitting the stock carb. I was worried after what I read, but seems fine.
