• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2008 TE610 with Uptite pipe

Husqvarna
B Class
So I bought a used 2008 that has the Uptite pipe on it.

It's lean as hell I believe, bucks pretty badly and randomly on constant throttle at cruise. Has a very abrupt forward lunge on throttle transitions. Doesn't like to start if stalled when hot unless I set the fast idle lever first. Generally nasty to hold smooth throttle at the bottom of 1st gear trying to just put along on a trail.

I don't think it's had any mods done other than the slip-on. Sooo..

What have you guys done with the Uptite pipe (mine is spark arrestor type)?

I know about the 'powerup' resistor for race mapping, so that's on my list.

I know about removing and plugging the O2 sensor too.

Have you guys removed the CAT too?

Have you guys then remapped or will the race map mod balance out if I remove the CAT and open the intake filter?

I don't have any local dyno shop that I'm aware of, so a custom remap with the iBeat here in NJ is highly unlikely.

I'm not looking for racing performance honestly, but I want smooth throttle response and I do actually like the higher mileage and I know motors will run cooler when they aren't leaned out to death.

Any help appreciated.

Grrrr, so the O2 sensor was removed and plugged. So this is more irritating as from what I've read, the bike should be running rich if anything. It must have the resistor as I don't have the flashing neutral light.

I may have to find a dyno in NJ and have it remapped.

** Ah, found a local who can fix me up. It's past break-in so it's time to fatten 'er up and remap **

Can't wait to see how it runs when it's all tweaked.
