  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Only have 350mi on the bike, yes it has the power up kit installed and has been running great.
The other day It died on me after running about 4mi. It was hard to start and kept dying and ended up pushing it about a mile home in the nice hot sun.
I went through posts on the site and got some idea of things to check. and did this today. Before I started on it I started the bike and of course it ran fine but I know thing don't fix themselfs.

Fuel pump cycles normal turning ignition on

I checked connections at the coil - OK

I pulled the fuel pump and checked the wiring connections -OK. The pump had slipped down as I have read about, but I was sure this was not the problem as I had added gas after I broke down and had the same problem. I reseated the pump and triple zip tied it.

Started it up got about 300yrds and died. Same problem...

Any idea what to check before I load her up and take it to the dealer?

Too bad for you and the bike and the Husqvarna company ... there are numerous threads here and on thumpertalk on this saga ...

That bike is not even broken in yet ...Is it under warranty? If so, hurry back to the dealer ...If not, I'd keep reading and working unless you just don't have the time to spend on the bike ... Actually, even if the former, I'd keep reading and get as much info from the dealer work as possible for future events :)

Yes, the pump will cycle when the switch turned off and on.

Taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Its out of warranty of course.
