  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2008 Te450 - Ebay Fuel Pumps

DemonPig

Husqvarna
Just picked up my first Husky (and a first dirt bike ever).
All was good for the first km but then the engine started dying while in gear.
Every time I started it again, it died quicker and quicker and finally I couldn't even get it going in neutral.
Cranks fine but I don't hear the pump engaging.

Called the nearest dealer, they want $900CAN for a new pump.
That is plain crazy.

Question is - have any of you guys used these ebay pumps?
Am I just throwing money away?
I've owned several bikes but never had a fuel pump issue before so this new territory to me.

A few people have reported satisfactory results; more have liked CA Cycleworks stuff, but it's $135USD. IMO (no experience) either one of those ebay pumps would be fine if the fuel line fits and is submersible... or just re-use yours, I guess. That stuff is hard to work with though.

I'd first make sure it's your fuel pump. Could be a filter, spilt line, regulator, or clogged injector too. And I'm close to deaf- I've never been able to hear my fuel pump ever.

good luck.

Having similar fuel pump issues with my 2009 year 310. I just purchased the ca cycle works pump after finding that thread after thread of people suggesting it as a replacement. The original pump is a 30mm fuel pump and now ca cycle makes a 30mm to replace the factory one with out modifying any of the housing. I am still in the process to fix it. But it appears to be very good quality. They also sell the fuel pump regulator. I would stay away from any cheap ones made in China.

Thanks for the replies. I pulled the pump out and it's actually running.

Not sure what the problem is. Put a new spark plug in too.

I'll have to go back to the drawing board ....

I noticed that the neutral light flashes few times when the key is turned on.
Gonna research that too. Maybe the problem is linked.
