• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2008 TE250 clutch question

Hello gang. I am new to the forum and new to the TE 250. I like the bike so far, but I have a question. I don't think the clutch fully disengages. If I try to start the bike in 1st gear(with the clutch pulled in) the bike doesn't like to start. Instead the whole bike lurches forward. The only way to start it is to give it some throttle.

I think this clutch problem also contributes to the engine stalling when I come to a stop.

I can't figure out how to adjust the clutch. I know you can adjust the lever for different hand sizes, but how can I get a little more free play in the clutch lever?

I apologize in advance if I posted this in the wrong spot. I did try a search and will continue to. Thanks in advance and let me know what you think. Scott

There has been lots of past questions on this dragging issue ... My 08 TXC250 is about like you described ... The only thing I have done to it to help in regards to the dragging, is use at least 1L of true synthetic engine oil. Using only dino oil makes it drag very bad...

I'm sure others have other solutions ...

Thanks for the answer. I guess we will live with it. I am trolling older posts for some other fixes for little problems. So far I think it is a pretty cool bike. Thanks again.
