  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2008 TE250 Auto Clutch

Rekluse used to, but discontinued them last year (I have the very last one in my TXC250). They usually come up for sale on the used market from time to time.
Revloc may have a Dyna-ring for that bike?
EFM may convert it if you ship them your basket.

I have a Rekluse on my 08 TE250. Love it! On the website I believe it was sold only for the 450/510 but all you had to do to make it fit the 250 was to get a deeper clutch cover (7602 or one from a 450/510) or use both gasket spacers. I raced it all last season and only had to adjust it once to my liking. I think I have about 400 miles on the Rekluse with no issues. I found it used in the classifieds here on this site.

Hey Everyone" Just wanting to Confirm, A Rekluse auto clutch kit thats for the te450 and 510 will fit a te 250-310, but you just need to space the clutch cover out a bit, so it fits. Did i get this right.

I've heard that it works, and I've also heard that it doesn't work.

Anyone that has it working, can you post and specify which clutch it is? I think I've heard the Rekluse Z-Start worked, but the Z-Start Pro did not work. Not sure whether that was related to the clutch cover, or there were other reasons.

Also, I have a 2009, but I don't think there was a relevant difference between the 2008 and 2009 TE. I know the EFI tuning is slightly different, but AFAIK the clutch is the same.

Any information is appreciated.

The option shown in the quote below, only works with Rekluses for clutches used in the 450/510 up to the end of 07. After that the 450/510's started using the same clutch as the WR250/300 and the Rekluse for that isn't compatible with the big block 250/310's.
If you have a rare 250/310 4t with a riveted clutch primary gear/basket combo(they probably don't exist), you can swap baskets with a 250/300 2t and make it work. But since they don't likely exist, that's not much of an option.
No z-start pros exist for the big block 250/310 4ts.
I may potentially have a Rekluse Z-start coming up for sale for a TE/TXC 250/310. Will know in the next month or two.

The only other option is to swap the entire gear train out of a 450/510 into a 250/310 & adjust final gearing to compensate - but that's not much of a viable alternative.....

I don't think the Dyna Ring works either... AFAIK, it looks like the only option is EFM, or the original Rekluse Z-Start (non-Pro).
