  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2008 TC 510 DB Killer???

Flash319

Husqvarna
A Class
Hi everyone. I am a new owner of a 2008 TC510. I have not road it much yet as the snow and ice is plentiful in Ontario Canada right now. It runs very good and I think I will love it.

I need it to pass a 94db sound test at most events and it will not do this stock. I know that Husky sold a db Killer type insert for the 2009 models but the 08 exhaust tip is a bit different requiring a bend to the insert. Has anyone found one that fits this exhaust? Any infor about this exhaust would be great. It is made by Arrow?

Thanks

There was one available overseas when they came out. Don't know how easy it may be to get one now. You could purchase the factory spark arrestor or purchase a decibel dawg. Don't know if you require a spark arrestor, but the decibel killer doesn't work together. My arrow with just the spark arrestor is not that loud.

I've raced my stock 2008 TC 510 in Ontario since it was new and I've never been stopped because of a noise issue. I actually find it quite quiet compared to the Japenese mx bikes.

Try the spark arrestor and a fresh pack on the muffler.

Arrow makes the pipes and they have all kinds of stuff to put in there.

You just have to find the right stuff.
